New level: Chekov's brick

Here is a new level. It is really a low to medium difficulty problem with the addition of a couple of monsters. By the end you will probably need to figure out how to undermine a certain risk.

Here it is: chekhov.xye.

In order to play this file, save checkhov.xye to ( xye folder\levels\ ) in windows or /home/username/.xye/levels/ in Linux-like OS.

Let us open a blog for the game

Some changes have been mode to the site. I have started a blog about the game so that it will be easier to share news related to it. I will also probably include new levels here until the level sharing place is up.

The old mailing list, well it went inactive and google removed the custom page feature. I have decided that the comments in this blog will be the place to opine about the game if you want to. Unless it is a bug report, then use the tracker or the email contact.

Xye 0.10.0 released

The new version is intended to make the game friendlier to the more casual players. It adds (enables) the Undo last move feature. The game will also automatically save and load the game of the current level. There are also minor fixes.

Xye 0.9.3 released

The new version features some new levels, graphical improvements and a recently-discovered, revolutionary technology that makes the graphical user interface friendlier: Tool tips.

Xye 0.9.2 released

It has been almost a year since the last update, but here we come. Xye 0.9.2 has been released. There are a couple of new levels and also a feature that was long overdue, a GUI to change the skin file. To celebrate the skin picker, there are also two new skins available. Hopefully we can soon release the new more artistic, temple-based skin we shared previews of a year ago.

xmas 2009 level pack

Let us try something different this year. I have just released 8 new levels in a holiday-themed pack. I hope everyone enjoys these new levels. To play the level pack, after installing xye follow the instructions in the readme file inside the zip. xmas-xye-2009.zip

Work in progress

I know we have not had many updates lately, but there has been some work in new futures. For example, we have been working on improving the theme support and Miguel has been working on a temple theme that is more stylish and also more suitable for bigger screens. As you can see, some things are not done yet, most notably the buttons.
